What is Genius Tech Hour News Project?

Inquiry-Based & Student-Directed Learning in Technology Literacy:
Genius Technology Hour Goals

Date all of your projects

6 Genius Hour projects will be 
due on your website page
by end of each quarter 

(3 due at mid Quarter and 6 total due at end of Quarter). 


     The goal of your weekly  Genius Technology Hour in the News project is to ignite something you are passionate or curious about in today's innovative world of technology, engineering, STEAM, computers, gadgets, people, places, artificial intelligence, 3D printing clothes and food, robots in business (Who are Dru, Tug, YO2D2, Wally, Yobot, HotelEMC2 Cleo and Leo, Aloft, Hilton's Connie, and Pepper) voice recognition, Grace Murray Hopper, Steve Jobs, Sheryl Sandberg, drones, smart watches, drverless transportation, smart cities, smart buses, smart homes or devices/products.  Use the links on this blog in the left side bar to start your research.

Tips on how to get your Genius Hour research started

A.)  Questions to begin my research:
  1. What do I want to learn more about?  
  2. What is the history of your Genius Tech Hour topic? 
  3. What is the future of  your Genius Tech Hour topic?
  4. Who is the founder or inventor of your Genius Tech Hour topic?
  5. What do I need to know to understand more or be a "genius" on this topic to explain to another student"
  6. What do I want to create to share or present what I learned during my weekly Genius Hour research?
B.) What can I create to share what I have learned:
  1. Create a Newsletter by making a copy of this template and inserting your newsletter onto your Genius Hour Tech News page of your website (be sure to change advanced settings to "anyone with a link" can view)
  2. Create a Brochure by making a copy of this template and inserting your informational brochure onto your Genius Hour Tech News page of your webstie (be sure to change advanced setting to "anyone with a link" can view)
  3. Create a video using SparkAdobe or Animoto and insert on your Genius Hour website.
  4. Write a letter to future classmate about what your learned in your weekly research.
  5. Create a 5 slide Google presentation highlighting at least 5 important facts with images on your research
